Basketball curriculum

3-Month Basketball Curriculum for Beginners

Duration: 12 Weeks (3 Months)
Level: Beginner
Age Group: 6–16 Years (can be adapted for adults)
Classes per Week: 3 Sessions per Week
Session Duration: 60–75 Minutes

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, players will be able to:

Dribble confidently with both hands.
Pass and catch accurately.
Perform proper lay-ups.
Shoot using correct technique.
Understand offensive and defensive fundamentals.
Play 3v3 and 5v5 games with basic rules and teamwork.

Learning Outcomes

Execute right- and left-hand lay-ups.
Shoot with proper technique from close range.
Apply basic offensive and defensive concepts.
Communicate effectively with teammates.
Play organized 3v3 and 5v5 basketball games while demonstrating sportsmanship and confidence.
This curriculum is suitable for sports academies, schools, and beginner basketball development programs such as Pro Play Zone Sports Academy and can be expanded into Level 2 (Intermediate) and Level 3 (Advanced) courses.
